Integration of Religious and Philosophical Principles for Enhancing Education of Royal Police Cadet Academy

Abstract

This research entitled ‘Integration of Religious and Philosophical Principles for Enhancing Education of Royal Police Cadet Academy’ contains these objectives; 1) to study the religious principles for enhancing the education of Thai Police Cadet Academy, 2) to study the philosophical principles for Enhancing Education, and 3) to integrate the religious and philosophical principles for enhancing of education of Royal Police Cadet Academy, and 4) to present a new model of Integration of religious and philosophical principles for enhancing the education of Royal Police Cadet Academy. The results indicated that 1) religion plays an important role in human development including culture and society. It refined people to be based on norms, being a refuge and determines the behavior forms of people. In addition, the Buddhist philosophy for encouraging the study is Tisikkhā or Three Trainings, i.e., Morality, Concentration and Wisdom, 2) Philosophy seeks the reasonable answer and solutions through the rational method which changes over time depending on what subject or problem involved as educational philosophy, i.e., Essentialism, Perennialism, Progressivism, Reconstructionism and Existentialism. 3) Buddhist teaching including Tisikkhā, consisting of Adhisīlasikkhā as a guideline for bodily, verbal deeds, Adhicittasikkhā helping the learners to control their temptations, and Adhipaññāsikkhā enabling strength to confront all problems can be applied to the purpose of learning, curriculum, teaching method and the learners, 4) New knowledge dealing with the integration of religious and philosophical principles for enhancing the education of Royal Police Cadet Academy is “MWA Model”.
