LITERARY TECHNIQUES TO CONVEY VIRTUE AND EQUALITY CONCEPTS OF HUMAN: THE SUNG SONG WITH CRITICAL REVIEW

Abstract

A song is a kind of narrative poetry using delicately sifted and selected vocabulary. By using critical analysis and interpretative approach, the song “Ther Mun Rob Chan, Chan Mun Rob Ther” (I rotate you, you rotate me) has been found that there are two outstanding characteristics; 1) Techniques and 2) Content and Thought. For the techniques, it is found that there are two features; firstly, language techniques which frequently use simple vocabulary yet convey several meanings, and secondly, composing technique which use the parallel comparison between natural phenomenon and human behaviors. For content and thought, three outstanding features have been found. They are (1) nature and human are firmly connected (2) nature is the ethically behavioral model for human and (3) all beings are valuable and equally important. Those two outstanding characteristics, techniques as well as content and thought, are strongly related and united.
