Abstract

The research titled “Supply Chain Management for tourism in Banchiang, Udonthani Province” aimed to create sustainable tourism supply chain development guidelines. The research was a qualitative study. The data were collected through interviews and observations. The populations were including of (1) tourists, (2) communities, (3) entrepreneurs, and (4) governmental officials. The samples comprised of 72 people. The data were collected via in-depth interviews and observations. It was found that most of tourists mostly came in groups and stayed overnight for only one night. They purchased tour packages from homestay groups. Tourists who traveled by personal cars did not stay overnight as they did not have information about accommodations. For physical development, it was suggested that public vehicles should be provided to go in and out to Ban Chiang, universal designs should be applied for landscape developments, bicycles should be provided for conveniences when visiting different areas, and value-added activities should be provided for tourists. For information development, it was suggested that social media should be supplied for public relations to provide more information and suggestions to visiting different areas and communication, and that a sound system should be provided inside the museum. For financial development, it was suggested that e-reservation system should be established. For other developments, there were suggested that new products should be innovated by maintaining local uniqueness which could increase value added, advanced designs should be applied to increase universality, and convention halls should be organized in the community to allow engagements in sustainable tourism supply chain as development guidelines with good balance.
