Usage Behavior of Smart-Phone Applications for Middle Age Persons

Abstract
The purpose of this independent study was to study middle-aged persons’ behavior on choice of smartphone applications in relation to demographic aspect, their smartphone usage and choice of applications in order to provide guidelines for improving smartphone applications to best suit their needs. The sample for this study was a total of 400 persons aged 35 and over currently living in Bangkok and vicinity. The descriptive statistics were mean, frequency, percentage and standard deviation. The hypotheses were then tested by Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that different occupations, choice of application, channels in searching for application, letter colors and font on smartphone, and usage duration significantly affected the respondents’ needs in using different applications at the level of 0 .05 Since most of them were middle-aged, they needed clear vision of font and its color.
