Policy Implementation of Tourism Development in Bangkok : Case study in China Town (Yaowarach)

Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation was aimed (1) to examine tourism development policy taken by Bangkok metropolis, and (2) to investigate how the Bangkok tourism development policy has been implemented. The results showed that (1) Bangkok tourism development policy has emphasized Bangkok as a tourism metropolis with sustainable development and conservation and tourism resources and becomes a center of tourism in Southeast Asia region as well as concentrated on the quality of the incoming tourists and the constructive tourist development, and (2) the tourism policy implemented includes those activities promoting both short-term and long-term tourism development in Bangkok, the economic and social conditions that affect tourism development and the growth of tourism and increase in the investment, labor migration, attributes and number of authorities and resources to achieve their goals, and political processes; including ability to negotiate between government agencies and policy stakeholde.
