The Development of English Media to Promote Temple Tourism in Phitsanulok

Abstract

The purposes of this research were as follows: (1) to study the process of media development for Buddhist tourism; (2) to develop English media for tourism of important temples in Phitsanulok province; and (3) to present English media for Buddhist tourism. The sample were 19 people, consisting of the 9 representatives of monks, temple servants and administrative committees of Phrasriratanamahathat Woramahavihara Temple, Ratchaburana Temple and Nang Phaya Temple and the 10 students of Buddhachinaraj Buddhist College. The study was an applied research that is qualitative research and quantitative research. Data were analyzed by using document analysis, suitability assessment and record form for focus group. It was found that (1) the process of development English media for tourism promotion of the temple in Phitsanulok consists of 4 steps: 1) planning 2) production preparation 3) production process and 4) evaluation; (2) the results of development English media for tourism promotion of the temple in Phitsanulok with overall quality at a high level; and (3) the results of the presentation of English media for Buddhist tourism by using a small group meeting method summary of issues as follows: 1) the highlight is content, 2) The point that should be improved is some interesting scenes are too short, and 3) additional suggestions are to record sound, use high quality equipment because it will get more deep and smooth images.
