Abstract

The purposes of this study were to study operating roles and factors affecting operating roles of licensed social workers. The study was a quantitative research. The samples were 204 licensed social workers of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. It was found that operation in term of preventive roles was at the highest level while operation in term of development roles was at the lowest level. The personal factors resulting in different operating roles covered marital status, age, educational level and office. The overall factors of licensed social workers, i.e. social work knowledge, operating attitudes and work skills were at a high level, and resulted in the indifferent operating role. The overall external factors were at a low level, except for Social Work Professions Act B.E. 2556 (2013) and management policies which were at a high level, and resulted in the indifferent operating role. Considering each aspect, the external factors resulted in different rehabilitative and development roles.
