Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the problem in the water supply for agriculture in Chainat province; 2) to study water supply approaches for agriculture in Chainat province; and 3) to study the approaches for building the cooperation between government, public sector and private sector in the water supply for agriculture, Chainat province. The study was a qualitative research. Conduct interviews with representatives from government, public and private sectors involved in water management. For agriculture in Chainat Province, amount 30 people. The research instrument was a structured interview, Participant and Non-Participant Observation. It was found that the problem of water management for agriculture in Chainat Province was the lack of integration of the relevant agencies. As for the water management approach for agriculture, it was found that there was a scope on resource users set rules for water use and care, process to encourage stakeholder participation in decision-making, effective monitoring and supervision mechanism, step-by-step punishment process from light to heavy, and conflict management mechanism.
