Potentiality Development Approach on Community-Based Tourism Standard in Nopphitam District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract
This research aimed to study of the potentiality development approach on 5 community-based tourism standards in Nopphitam district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. This study was a qualitative research based on focus group and unstructured in-depth interview. The key informants were a member of community-based tourism groups in Nopphitam distract into 5 groups as follows: 1) Baan Na-ngae group, 2) Agrotourism group community enterprise, 3) Kumtanui learning center, 4) conservation Klay upstream group, and 5) whitewater rafting and hot spring group. There were 15 interviewees. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, checked for validity and reliability by triangulation technique and the data were analyzed by content analysis. The research result showed that the potentiality development approach on 5 community-based tourism standards as follows: 1) community-based tourism management: promote participation, and promoting a bookkeeping; 2) economic management: social and quality of life, promote skills and knowledge and develop quality community product to improve quality of life; 3) cultural heritage conservation and promotion: management of cultural heritage, meaningful communicator in the community, and improve management of cultural heritage for 5CM-MODEL; 4) sustainable environmental and natural resource management: infrastructure improves, awareness on the importance of natural resource of tourism; and 5) quality of community-based tourism services: development of facilities, training to community and entrepreneur and warning danger sign or officers are stationed in risk areas.
