The Development of Internal Supervision Process of Primary Schools in Thachang District under Suratthani Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

Abstract

The objectives of this study were as follows: 1) to study the state of internal supervision of primary schools in Thachang District; 2) to develop the internal supervision process of administrators and teachers involved in the internal supervision; and 3) to assess the development of internal supervision. This study was conducted by an action research method including four steps: planning, action, observation, and reflection; and took two cycles. The target group involved 21 participants, including administrators and teachers of primary schools in Thachang Network 2 of Thachang District, which were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by a questionnaire, a test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis. The research findings were as follows: 1) the internal supervision of the schools had not been developed continuously. Consequently, the schools lacked the quality in educational management and the target group was not concerned with the supervision; 2) The development of the internal supervision process showed that the knowledge and understanding and internal supervision process of the target group after attending the workshop was higher at a statistical significance level of 0.01; and 3) the assessment of the development showed that the target group dared to express opinions and ask questions, attended the workshop with interest, and were able to apply the internal supervision process in schools at a very good level. The target group was satisfied with the internal supervision at the highest level.
