The Potential Empowerment of Teachers to Enhance Learning Analytical Thinking of Student in Border Patrol Police Schools

Abstract

This research aimed to empower teachers’ instructional potentials through collaboration in promoting learning quality in terms of analytical thinking, and evaluate learning quality in terms of analytical thinking of students of border patrol police schools. The study was a participatory action research. The populations were 21 Thai language teachers teaching at 4th -6th grades, and 263 students from 7 Border Patrol Police Schools collaborated in the project initiated by His Majesty the King with Lampang Rajabhat University. The research tools were 1) the instruction manual, 2) the supervision form, 3) the questionnaire on teachers’ opinion, 4) the analytical thinking test, and 5) the lesson learned record form. The data were quantitatively analyzed using the mean analysis, standard deviation, and percentage, while the qualitative data analysis was based on the frequency distribution, content analysis, and descriptive narrative. The research results revealed that the teachers’ instructions after empowering their instructional potentials through collaboration in promoting learning quality in students' analytical thinking were at good level. All students passed the criteria of 60% in evaluating learning quality in terms of analytical thinking after attending the instructions conducted by the teachers whose instructional potentials were empowered through such collaboration.
