The Community Art Creation Surat Thani City

Abstract

The community art creation research project Surat Thani City was a participatory action research project. The objectives of this research were 1) to use the painting process to create community culture diagrams; 2) to create academic works of art by using local artistic knowledge; target areas for economic and social utilization; 3) to collect knowledge in art and local community culture; and 4) to disseminate local arts knowledge and knowledge of local culture. Owners of cultural resources, community leaders and philosophers, and villagers were randomly selected. Data collection by group interview, in-depth interview, and observation. The results showed that 1) the prototype of the painting created a community culture diagram at Phatthanaram temple and 2) the attitude and emotion of the work of community arts were satisfied with the beauty of the area after creating the work, which was the highest issue. 3) the discovery of knowledge of local community culture in 7 components, and 4) the results of the assessment of the understanding and value of developing community areas to create aesthetic value. The evaluation results from the general public showed that the evaluation results of creative works were at a high level, and the values and importance of the evaluation results were also high. In terms of the use of knowledge for utilization, the assessment results were at a high level, and in terms of satisfaction with creative works, the evaluation results were at a high level.
