Ethic in Publication

Southeast Bangkok Journal (Humanities and Social Sciences) has highly ethical standard of publication.  So all parties need to abide by the ethical principles and standard of publication

Ethic of Editor

1. Editor is responsible for considering and checking all articles submitted to be accepted for publication by examining the content corresponding to the aim and scope of the subject areas determined including realizing the quality of the articles in the assessing process and the quality of the article before publishing.

2. Editor must use academic reason in considering articles without prejudices against articles and authors in terms of race, gender, religion, culture, politics, and author’s affiliates.

3. Editor must not be affiliated to the author or reviewer nor do they make use of it or as their own work.

4. Editor must not make any changes to the reviewer’s judgement including not hinder nor involving with information transferred between the reviewer and the author.

5. Editor can check for precision or correct wording in the article considering the content and quality of the article as well as abiding by the process of the journal strictly.

6. Editor must keep standard of the journal as well as develop the quality of the journal.

7. Editor will not disclose any information related to articles submitted to anyone apart from the coordinators or reviewers. In addition, editor will try their best to have double blind assessment process (Except when requested with reasons and without any effect upon the concerned)

 

Ethic of the Authors

1. Articles must not be published or disseminated elsewhere.

2. Articles must not be a copy of other’s and have in-text citation every time when cited

3. Authors must be responsible for the permission granted for the rights reserved.

4. In case the work to be published is related to the use of animal, participants, or volunteers, it is necessary to demonstrate evidence of ethics, strictly follow the laws and rules as well as getting a permission prior to collecting data.

5. Authors must reveal the source of fund.

6. Authors must certify that the articles submitted to the journal have not yet been t published elsewhere nor presented in the proceedings and not in a considering process of other journals. Submitting the articles to more than one journal in the same time is unethical.

7. The author’s name appearing on the article need to be an actual part of the paper.

8. If any errors are found on the article by the author, editor, or expert in the field (reviewers), the authors are supposed to report to the journal press office and coordinate with the editors to revise or remove their articles if necessary.

 

Ethic of the Reviewer

The journal board assigns at least 3 reviewers (experts in the field related to the article submitted) to peer-review the articles by using double blind process.  The reviewers are responsible for giving assistance to the editor’s decision whether the article should be published or not while helping the authors to improve their articles.  The reviewers should resign from assessing the articles if they were found no longer able to assess the articles.  Roles of the reviewers are as follows:

1. The reviewers must focus on the quality of articles and to be based on academic premise without prejudices and not affiliated with the authors.

2. The reviewers must not make use of the articles assessed.

3. The reviewers must realize that they are deeply knowledgeable about the articles assessed.

4. In case that the reviewers found the articles assessed were a copy as a whole or a part of other works, the reviewers need to report this to the editorial board immediately.

5. The reviewers must assess the manuscript within the requested time and not disclose any of the information in the articles to whoever not concerned.
