A STUDY OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP, COWORKERS SUPPORT, AND THE WORK ENVIRONMENT ON THE QUALITY OF WORK LIFE OF PRIVATE SECTOR OPERATIONAL EMPLOYEES IN BANGKOK

Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) examine the effects of transformational leadership on the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector; 2) examine the effects of coworker support on the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector; and 3) examine the effects of the work environment on the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector. Data were collected from 400 operational-level employees in Bangkok using a questionnaire. Content validity was assessed by experts, and the reliability value was .861. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including multiple regression analysis, were employed. The results revealed that: 1) transformational leadership explained 36.9% of the variance in the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector in Bangkok. 2) coworker support explained 30.3% of the variance in the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector in Bangkok; and 3) the work environment explained 35.7% of the variance in the quality of work life among operational-level employees in the private sector in Bangkok. All findings were statistically significant at the 0.05 level. The results can be used as guidelines to enhance, develop, and improve the quality of work life of operational-level employees in the private sector.
