The Effects of 7E Inquiry Learning Management Together with the KWL Technique in the Topic of Substances in Daily Life on Science Learning Achievement and Basic Science Process Skills of Prathom Suksa VI Students at Ban Najaroen School in Chaiyaphum Provi

Abstract

The purposes of this study were (1) to compare science learning achievements in the topic of Substances in Daily Life of Prathom Suksa VI students at Ban Najaroen School in Chaiyaphum Province before and after learning under the 7E inquiry learning management together with the KWL technique; (2) to compare science learning achievement of the students after learning against the 70 percent criterion; (3) to compare basic science process skills of the students before and after learning; and (4) to compare basic science process skills of the students after learning against the 70 percent criterion. The research sample consisted of 12 Prathom Suksa VI students. The instruments used were learning management plans for the 7E inquiry learning management together with the KWL technique in the topic of Substances in Daily Life, a science learning achievement test, and a basic science process skills test. Statistics employed for data analysis were the percentage, mean, and Sign Test. The research findings showed that (1) the post-learning science learning achievement in the topic of Substances in Daily Life of Prathom Suksa VI students at Ban Najaroen School, Chaiyaphum province, who learned under the 7E inquiry learning management together with the KWL technique was significantly higher than their pre-learning counterpart achievement at the .05 level; (2) the post-learning achievement of students was higher than the 70 percent criterion; (3) the post-learning basic science process skills of the students was significantly higher than their pre-learning counterpart skills at the .05 level; and (4) the post-learning basic science process skills of  the students was higher than the 70 percent criterion.
