The Relationship between School Administrators’ Servant Leadership and Work Performance Motivation of Teachers under Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Education Service Area Office 2

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to study servant leadership of school administrators; (2) to study work performance motivation of teachers; and (3)to investigate the relationship between school administrators’ servant leadership and work performance motivation of teachers in primary schools under Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Education Service Area Office 2. The sample consisted of 262 teachers from 88 primary schools under Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Education Service Area Office 2, obtained by systematic sampling. The employed research instrument was a rating scale questionnaire developed by the researcher. The questionnaire dealing with the data on servant leadership and work performance motivation has reliability coefficients of .97 and .94, respectively. Statistics employed for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The research findings were as follows: (1) overall, servant leadership of school administrators as perceived by teachers was at the high level; (2) overall, work performance motivation of teachers was also at the high level; and (3) school administrators’ servant leadership positively correlated at the high level with work performance motivation of teachers.
