Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to develop a Thai language reading comprehension training activities package for Prathom Suksa IV students based on the set efficiency criterion; (2) to compare the pre-learning and post-learning reading comprehension abilities of Prathom Suksa IV students who learned with the use of the Thai language reading comprehension training activities package; and (3) to study the satisfaction with Thai language reading of Prathom Suksa IV students who learned with the use of the Thai language reading comprehension training activities package. The research sample consisted of 31 Prathom Suksa IV students studying in the second semester of the 2016 academic year at Ban Chiang Khan “Wichitwittaya” School in Loei province, obtained by cluster random sampling. The employed research instruments included (1) a Thai language reading comprehension training activities package, (2) learning management plans for the use of the training package, (3) a reading comprehension ability test, and (4) a questionnaire on student’s satisfaction with Thai language reading. Statistics employed for data analysis were the E1/E2 efficiency index, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Research findings revealed that (1) the developed Thai language reading comprehension training activities package was efficient at 81.16/83.87, which was higher than the 80/80 efficiency criterion; (2) the post-learning reading comprehension ability of the students who learned with the use of the Thai language reading comprehension training activities package was significantly higher than their pre-learning counterpart ability at the .05 level of statistical significance; and (3) the students were satisfied with Thai language reading at the high level.
