Management for Upgrading Achievement on O-Net International Test of the Mattayom 3 students at the Mae Aeb Wittayakom School

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to investigate the current state of managementfor upgrading academic achievement, to find important causes and factors thataffected management for upgrading academic achievement as well as to discover guidelines to enhance the management for upgrading academic achievement of the Mattayom 3 students at the Mae Aeb Wittayakom School. The study consisted of 3 parts. First part was investigating the current state of management for upgrading academic achievement. Tool used was the document analysis, synthesized, concluded and presented in data description. Second part was finding the important causes and factors affecting management for upgrading academic achievement. Populations were the school administrator and the heads of eight learning areas. The research tool was interview then analyzed, synthesized and presented in data description. Final part was finding guidelines to enhance the management for upgrading academic achievement of the Mattayom 3 students. Tool used was an interview. The study indicated as follows: 1. The management for upgrading academic achievement following eight learning areas were found they included 1) Thai Language at 42.11 2) Mathematicsat 25.21 3) Science at 34.85 4) Social Studies, Religion and Culture at 42.15 5) Health and Physical Education at 45.86 6) Arts at 49.2 7) Occupations and Technology at 42.09 and 8) Foreign Languages at 27.57 2. The important causes and factors affecting to management for upgrading academic achievement comprised 1) Teachers have taught in an unrelated field to the course of study 2) The budget amount is not sufficient for supporting studying and learning activities 3) There was not enough teaching material 4) Administration had no clear plan and lacking of collaboration 5) Many students' families confronted with divorced parents' condition 6) Students were from poor families 7) Students did not realize the value of education. 3. The guidelines for upgrading achievement on O-Net International Test for Mattayom 3 students are 1) Create participation in implementation plan 2) Create organizing compact management method 3) Use the Four Sublime States of Mind to inspire personnel and 4) There must be frequently teaching supervision.
