The Guidelines for Academic Affairs Administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: 1) to examine the state of academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 2) to examine the factors affecting the academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang RaiPrimary Educational Service Area Office 1; 3) to propose the guidelines for academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The research design employed mixed- method approach covering quantitative and qualitative. The research instruments were documentary analysis, questionnaire, and focus group discussion. The samples were 20 participants that covered school principal, teachers, parents representatives, basic education board of committee, and specialist informants were vice director of Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, school administrators, educational supervisors, teacher representatives, parents representatives, school board of committee representatives. The findings revealed that: 1. The state of academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 indicated that: 1) The school curriculum development, in overall, was found at the highest level. 2) The instructional administration, in overall, was found at the high level. 3) The development and promotion of learning resources, in overall, was found at the moderate level. 4) The educational supervision, in overall, was found at the moderate level. 5) The assessment, evaluation, and credits transfer, in overall, was found at the high level. 2. The key factors affecting the academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Educational Service Area Office 1 based on 4 Ms model were reported. Man: Lack of teachers. Money: Lack of fluidity in payment system. Material: Problems in communication technology. Management: Problems of inconsistent management. The external factors were the relationship and participation of school and community. Student factors were that ethnic students had problems in communication skills and critical thinking skills. Parents factors were that some parents overlooked the importance of education. Socio-economic factors were that organizations involved in education ignored and did not participate in education administration, and coordination between school and community. 3. The guidelines for academic affairs administration of Ban Pangkhon School under Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 were proposed. 3. 1 The academic affairs administration covering 5 domains indicated that: School curriculum development: Should encourage teachers to teach students to learn by self-discovery approach. The instructional management: Should provide collection of curriculum materials for teachers to study. Development and promotion of learning resources: Should survey learning resources related to quality education development in the school and community.
