The Administration of Learning Resources in Support of Instructional Management of Doi Luang Ratchamangkalapisek School

Abstract

The objectives of this study was to examine the best practice in the administration of learning resources supporting the instructional management of schools under Chiang Rai Secondary Educational Service Area Office 36, to investigate circumstance of learning resources of the schools, and to propose the guidelines in the administration of learning resources supporting the instructional management of the schools. The target group was 10 participants involving school administrators, teachers in charge of learning resources management, chief level teachers, and school committee members. The research instruments were interview and focus group discussion. The data was analyzed by content analysis and frequency counts from high to low on hematic issues. The results showed that: 1. The best practice of learning resources management in support of instructional management for schools under Chiang Rai Secondary Educational Service Area Office 36 indicated that the stakeholders shared involvement in determining policy, objectives, and goals in the use of learning resources. Teachers accompanied students to visit a number of learning resources within the community. There was an appointment of staff in charge of supervision, monitoring, and evaluation the development and use of learning resources. And, the evaluation results were used for improvement and development of the learning resources. 2. The circumstance of the administration of learning resources in support of the instructional management of the schools indicated that there were the determination of policy and planning on the use of learning resources, learning activities, objectives in the use of learning resources, activation of the plan, satisfaction evaluation, and analysis of the evaluation results. Improvement of the defects was occasionally made. And, the evaluation results were sometime used for development planning. 3. The guidelines for administration of learning resources supporting the instructional management of the schools were proposed. That is, determining policy and formulating learning resources development plan, surveying inside and outside school learning resources and profiling them for use in instructional management, using various types of learning resources, selecting methods and tools for evaluation the use of learning resources, appointing committee monitoring the use of learning resources, analyzing the problems and obstacles in the use of learning resources, planning on investigation of best practices in the use of learning resources supporting the instructional management.
