The Sport Projects Management Guidelines for Competition Excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakhom School

Abstract

The aims of this study were: 1) to examine the circumstance of sport projects management for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School, Chiang Rai Province; 2) to investigate key factors affecting sport projects for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School; 3) to develop sport projects management guidelines for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School. Focus group discussion was used in data collection and the target group included school administrators and heads of the projects. The results showed that: 1. The circumstance of sport projects management for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School in overall 6 aspects indicated that budget management was found at good level. Buildings and facilities were rated at good level. Materials was ranked at fair level. Personnel involving the projects was found at good level. Sport projects management model was rated at fair level. Project supervision and evaluation was rated at good level. 2. The key factors affecting the sport projects management for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School involved 4 resources management factors (4M’s) including man, money, material, and management. 3. The sport projects management guidelines for competition excellence of Mae Chan Wittayakom School were proposed. 1) Planning: Raise awareness to stakeholders on importance of sport projects, create a sense of ownership of organization, and mobilize the organization to meet the shared goal. 2) Oragnizing: Review the sport projects management and analyze strengths, weaknesses, or potential problems on current situation. 3) Leading: Administrators must have policy that clearly and consistently promotes excellence in the sports. 4) Control: Monitor budget spending in compliance with objectives and efficiency.
