The Best Practice Administration of Royal Awarded School: A Case Study of Ban Wiang Phan School, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to examine demographic data of the Royal Awarded School at Ban Wiang Phan School, Chiang Rai Province. 2) To analyze the best practice in administrating Ban Wiang Phan School, Chiang Rai Province. The data source was a school administrator by means of documentary analysis. The data sources were a school administrator, 4 chiefs of administrative divisions, and 6 teachers in charge of 6 indicators. The data collection employed semi-structured interview and content analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that: 1. The demographic information during the past 4 years of the Royal Awarded School at Ban Wiang Phan School, Chiang Rai Province revealed the components of the school as follows. 1) Environment involved examining communities surrounding the school, students’ parents, opportunities and limitations of the school. 2) Input factors involved examining demographic data, vision, mission and goals of the school. 3) Process involved examining the principles of excellence administration following the WPS Model (Wiang Phan School), administration structure, students, teachers, educational personnel, buildings and facilities. 4) Product involved examining quality of learners, educational quality assurance results, and rewards earned by the school. 2. The best practice administration at Ban Wiang Phan School, Chiang Rai Province following the Royal Awarded School Indicators consisted of 6 aspects as follows: (1) Quality of student (2) Curriculum and academic affairs administration (3) Administration and management (4) Relationship of school, parents and community (5) Personnel administration and (6) Excellence of the school.
