Creation of Enhancing Experiential Book on “Songkhla Folk Tales and Poems” to Develop Critical Reading Skills of Secondary One Students Using SQ10R Technique

Abstract

                The purposes of this research were to create an enhancing experiential book entitled “Songkhla Folk Tales and Poems” to develop critical reading skills of Secondary One students using the SQ10R technique to examine the learning achievement in critical reading skills after using the enhancing experiential book and to investigate students’ satisfaction after using the enhancing experiential book The results of the research revealed that The quality of the enhancing experiential book “Songkhla Folk Tales and Poems” developed to enhance critical reading skills of Secondary One students using the SQ10R technique was evaluated by experts in five aspects: content, poetic structure and language use, content presentation, book format and design, and value and usefulness of the book. The overall mean score was 4.93, indicating a very high level of quality The students’ achievement in critical reading skills after using the enhancing experiential book was significantly higher than before using it at the .01 level. The pre-test mean score was 4.00 with a standard deviation of 0.80, while the post-test mean score was 7.77 with a standard deviation of 0.82 and The satisfaction of Secondary One students toward the use of the enhancing experiential book was at the highest level, with a mean score of 4.59.
