Patients Safety Goals According to Health Personnel Perceptions In a Private Hospital

Abstract

The objectives of this descriptive cross sectional study were to measure health personnel’s perception of patient safety practices, and to analyze the relationship among health personnel’s personal characteristics, factors supporting resources and information, and the perceived safety  practices. The sample of this study was 112 health personnel in a private hospital. The research instrument was a questionnaire statistics are Pearson’s  Correlation efficient and Chi-square test

            The results of this study showed that the sample had a high level of overall perception of patient safety practices (87.5%)           The findings lead to the suggestions as follows. The management section should clearly publish the security policy through the periodical communication and performance follow-up to improve the non-standardized elements. The academic division or clinical development department should organize the Patient Safety Goal workshop at least 2-4 times a year. The tests should be conducted, and clear criteria should be established for the operational guidelines and consistently positive awareness of the patient safety practices.
