Factors Affecting Billing Performance of Revenue Collective Center, Government Hospital in Si Sa Ket Province

Abstract

The cross-sectional analytical research aimed to investigate factors affecting billing performance of revenue collection center, government hospital in Si Sa Ket Province. The sample consist of 152 revenue collection center staff recruited by stratified simple random sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires. The quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Independent Sample t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.

                  The majority of the respondents were female (77.6%), the mean age was 40.02 years, aged 41-50 years (37.5%), marital status (62.5%), bachelor’s degree graduates (69.7%), and work experience mean for 8.53 years. Factor of billing performance found that working system factor had the highest average ( = 3.91, S.D. = 0.60). When considering each aspect of the billing performance, it was found that the quality of work had the highest average ( = 3.94, S.D. = 0.45). The comparison of billing performance by demographic characteristics found that age, status, position, position status, work experience, training, and workplace had influences on effective billing performance, with statistical significance (p<0.05). Significant factors affecting billing performance were officer (β = 0.552), service receiver (β = 0.200), and work system (β = 0.190). All of these factors could together predict the billing performance of revenue collective center up to 57.8% (R2 = 0.578). Setting appropriate policies to support the officer should be based on age group and position status.  Improvement of working environment to be clean, safe, and pleasant to work for, will result in effective and efficient work performance.
