DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING COURSE ON YOUTH CARE FREE DRUG ADDICTION FOR THE PARENTS OF MATTHAYOMSUKSA 3 STUDENTS SURATTHANI SCHOOL SURAT THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the problems and needs on training course development and to develop the training course on youth care free drug addiction for the parents of Matthayomsuksa 3 students, Suratthani School, Surat Thani Province. The study was divided into 2 steps.

The study consisted of 266 participants. Data were collected byusing questionnaire. The results showed that there were needs to attend the training courses in 4 aspects, namely the method and guideline taking care of the youth free drug addiction, warm family creation, parents’ participation in taking care of the youth free drug addiction including understanding about addiction.

Development of a course framework was based on data from step 1 consisting of 1) the problems and the needs in developing the course 2) the purposes of the course 3) the contents in the course with 4 aspects, namely the knowledge on addiction, prevention of drug addiction in the youth group by social protection, and building the relationship within family. In content of each aspect would consist of behavior purpose, subject contents, training technique, training media/equipment, time and evaluation. The course was evaluated by 9 specialists and found that the training course was appropriate to use at the high level.
