การทูตซูสี : ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพระนางซูสีไทเฮากับชาวต่างชาติหลังขบวนการนักมวย

บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลให้ภาพลักษณ์ของซูสีไทเฮาได้รับการเผยแพร่ในเชิงลบในสื่อตะวันตก และเพื่อศึกษายุทธศาสตร์ทางการทูตของพระนางในการพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์กับชาวต่างชาติหลังขบวนการนักมวย โดยการใช้วิธีการทางประวัติศาสตร์ในการวิเคราะห์แหล่งข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวข้อง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ภาพลักษณ์ทางลบของพระนางมีสาเหตุจากการล้มการปฏิรูปปี ค.ศ. 1898 และการสนับสนุนขบวนการนักมวยอย่างเปิดเผยในปี ค.ศ. 1900 เพื่อฟื้นฟูภาพลักษณ์และพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์กับชาติมหาอำนาจตะวันตก ซูสีไทเฮาได้ดำเนินยุทธศาสตร์ทางการทูตด้วยการเปิดรับคณะทูต การสานสัมพันธ์กับบรรดาภริยาทูต และการใช้ภาพเหมือนเป็นเครื่องมือทางการเมืองและการทูต
