The Development of Board Games as Instructional Media to Enhance the Junior High School Students’ Capabilities in Thai Literatures Learning

Abstract

          This purposes of this research were to 1) develop and evaluate the quality of board games as instructional media to enhance the junior high school students’ capabilities in Thai language subject: literatures learning, 2) compare the learning achievement from before and after learning with board games as instructional media in Thai language subject: literatures for junior high school students, and 3) evaluate the learning satisfaction towards board games as instructional media in literatures for junior high school students. The samples used in this research were 12 Mathayom 1/6 students who were enrolled in Takhliprachasan School, Takhli district, Nakhon Sawan during the second semester, the 2023 academic year. The research instruments were 1) board games as instructional media to enhance Mathayom 1 students’ capabilities in Thai literatures learning, 2) 2 sets of achievement test, and 3) satisfaction assessment towards board games as instructional media to enhance Mathayom 1 students’ capabilities in Thai literatures learning. The statistics used were mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), and t–test dependent.


       The results revealed that:  1. The efficiency result of board games as instructional media to enhance the junior high school students’ capabilities in Thai language subject: literatures learning of the criterion at 80/80 had the efficiency criteria (E1/E2) at 82.50/80.83 which was higher than the criterion at 80/80.  2. The comparison of result from before and after learning achievement of students towards board games as instructional media in Thai language subject: literatures for junior high school students showed that after learning was higher than before testing with statistically significance at the 0.05 level.  3. The satisfaction result of students towards board games as instructional media in literatures for junior high school students showed that Rachathirach episode Saming Praram Asa (7 days Asa Rachathirach) in overall was at a high level (gif.latex?x=33, S.D. = 0.67), and Verse of Food and Dessert (Samrub Hahey: Verse of Food and Dessert) in overall was at the highest level (gif.latex?x = 4.59, S.D. = 0.52).
