Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) examine the current status of teaching quality and its affecting factors under existing teaching methods and teaching modes in higher education at Guizhou Qiannan University of Science and Technology, (2) develop a teaching quality model that effectively supports the achievement of quality education goals, and (3) evaluate an integrated model of teaching methods and teaching modes oriented toward quality education. The study employed a mixed-methods design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interview forms, and expert consultation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and factor-analytic procedures, while qualitative data were analyzed through content-based interpretation to support model development and explanation. The findings indicated that teaching quality in higher education is a multidimensional construct comprising three major dimensions: basic teaching quality, specialized teaching quality, and developmental teaching quality. Additionally, the proposed integrated model revealed that teaching quality was influenced by interrelated personal, institutional, and contextual factors. These findings provide an empirical foundation for understanding teaching quality and guiding quality-oriented teaching reform in higher education.
