THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVITY FOR GRADE 6 STUDENTS THROUGH CREATIVE DRAMATIC ARTS (PIIACR) TEACHING

Abstract

The Action Research entitled “The Development of Creativity for Grade 6 Students through Creative Dramatic Arts (PIIACR) Teaching” which aimed to develop creativity of Grade 6 students was conducted during July-September 2019. The content used to develop guidelines for the assessment of creative thinking skills through learning management of “PIIACR” creative dramatic performance for Grade 6 students consisted of an 8-hour learning plan. The tools used for measurement and evaluation comprised a test of creativity in dramatic arts, an assessment form for creativity in costume design and performance equipment, and an assessment form for creativity in dramatic performance evaluated by performers, roommates and the teacher. The results from relative gain scores of the performance creativity assessment and the test of creativity in dramatic performance showed that the students increased in their creativity. When the scores gained from the assessment of the costume design and performance equipment were compared to the criteria, it was found that 90.32 percent of the students had good and excellent levels of creativity.
