BANTHERNG ROENGRAM LAMNAMPLENG

Abstract

The creative research of Thai performance “Bantherng Roengram  Lamnampleng” is a qualitative research. The objective was 1) To create performances based on local knowledge in order to develop patterns of Thai local music and dance. 2) To evaluate performance “Bantherng Roengram Lamnampleng” according to a panel of experts opinions. The scope of the research was to study the performance pattern of Suphanburi province. Singing folk songs of Mrs. Kwanjit Sriprajan, a national artist: Pisthan Song Rua Song  Kiewkhao Song (harvest song) E-Saew Song and provocative long drum song. The creation of a musical consisted of music accompanying dance postures. Proceed the story with folk music. The research included an analysis of analyzed texts and documents related to folk songs in Suphanburi, a field study, an unstructured interview with a panel of experts and a presentation of musical series performance by a group of performers who have experience to perform folk songs. The performance pattern was separated into 3 parts: Pleng Saksit, Chewit Nai Pleng and Crencreng Lamnam. The performance demonstrated how folk songs in the past to can be accompanied by Piphat performance, together with beautiful Thai classical dance move, presented with a spectacular scene, equipment, lighting. The performance was impressively successful in portraying a lifestyle of musicians having fun.
