CREATIVE WORK ON LUK-CHUANG PHUANG-MALAI

Abstract

The Objective of creative research on Luk-chuang Phuang-malai was to study the history and style of playing in Phuang-malai song Ban JraKhe Sam Phan, Uthong district Suphanburi province. Creating performance on Luk-chuang Phuang-malai by bringing knowledge from the local wisdom to the development in the form of Thai performing arts then was presented for the succession to the public. There are ways to conduct research by studying relevant documents, interviewing artist wisdom, practicing and creating work. The results are 1) Knowledge of Phuang-malai Song that was sung and played almost two hundred years ago of Ban JraKhe Sam Phan, Uthong district Suphanburi province by local wisdom artist Kru Bua Sangwanna. Phuang-malai Song is a folk song that has a unique melody and delightfulness with the accent of the local people of Suphanburi. There are PorPhang, MaePhang, as well as young people who come to play the Thai play called the Luk-chuang or Lukchai that is a local sport by using the cloth as a round tie. How to play is to divide the players into two sides with a central boundary. Each side throws the ball to each other. Another side has to come to sing and play Phuang-malai Song when the players don’t get the ball. 2) The style of Phuang-malai Song performance of the villagers was created in the creative process of the Thai dances by using the principles of creative work and added concept, imagine, knowledge and used psychology to help drive work to be perfect, beautiful, impressed 3) Show format was fun that occurred from bringing the Luk-chuang play and singing Phuang-malai song together. Male and female dancers presented through Thai dance gestures accompanied by the cheerful music of the Piphat band and long drum.
