Abstract

The study of Homrong–Yen suite: a case study of Nong–Rong District, Bureerum Province is the research which aims to study the history, generality and study Homrong–Yen of Nong Mai Sai Thong Group, Nong Sai subdistrict, Nang–Rong District, Bureerum Province. The research can be concluded that: Nong Mai Sai Thong music band (fomerly Nong sai Ban Lang Sil) in Bureerum Province, which has Mr. Ang Prab pai or commonly known as “Master Aaew”. As a band conductor in Nong Mai Sai Thong music band, I realize the importance of Homroug-yan suite and always play in a Typical way called “Tang Boran”. There are 11 songs in Homrong-yan suite which consist of 1. Sa-Tu-Gan 2. Tra 3. Rlua-Sam-La 4. Craob-Jak-ka-Wan 5. Pra-Tom 6. La 7. Sa-Mer (is connected Rlua–La-Deaw) 8. Cherd 9. Klom 10. Chamnan and 11. Kraog-Nai (is connected La). From The study, it was found that; 1) The Melody of Khong-Wong-Yai/Ra-Nad-Tum has three identity features. 2) The Melody of Phee-Nai / Ra-Nad-Aeg has four identity features. 3) The Melody of Khong-Wong-Lek has two in identify feafures. The Melody of Homrong yan Suite “Thang Boran” band has its own dominant feature. The main melody of Khong-Wong-Yai is used to improvise for other music instruments. Nong Mai Sai Tong music band still conserve and inherit this melody through. The new generations until now.
