Abstract

This creative research is a creation of painting, which is inspired by colors and patterns of the Nora costume made from colorful, bright, beautiful and unique beads. Beads are arranged in lines using various patterns and shapes. The shapes are independent, so they can move according to the rhythm of the show to attract the audience’s attention.

Colors and patterns of Nora costume, therefore, have been created as a new painting work using acrylics. By using the dotting technique from cones to express instead of beads that are strung into colors, patterns, and shapes, a new texture of small dots formed by cones, arranged in patterns and shapes will be featured on canvas showing the distinctness of notability, shine, vibrant colors, and the movements of the points in sequence. The value of visual aesthetics of painting is conveyed to show the beauty of costume art of Nora, the traditional performing art in the southern region of Thailand.
