THE CREATION OF PRAEWA KALASIN FOLK DANCE

Abstract

This study aims to analyze components of the creation of Praewa Kalasin folk dance of Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts. Based on related literatures reviews, interviews, and observation, it is found that the creation of Praewa Kalasin folk dance consists of 1) 3 sessions of folk dance, 2) 3 groups of performers: actor, actress, child, 3) 4 kinds of costume design: Praewa Thai silk fabric, sarong, body accessories, hair accessories, and 4) consists the music which is composed of Isaan music playing. The Praewa pattern has three kinds of rhythm: slow, medium slow and fast. The reason why design steps in the creation of Praewa folk dance of Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts have been popular and highly accepted from the society for a long time is that Thai Dramatic Arts and music teachers fully cooperate in knowledge transfer.
