THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TRAINING COURSE FOR THE PRACTICE OF GONG WONG YAI IN PHRA ATHIT CHINGDUANG SONG FOR STUDENTS OF THAI MUSIC DEPARTMENT, COLLEGE OF MUSIC, BANSOMDEJCHAOPRAYA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research is a research and development project aimed at developing and experimenting with a training program for the performance of Thai classical music ensemble for students of the Thai Music Department, College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. The research process consisted of four steps: 1) studying basic data, 2) curriculum development, 3) curriculum implementation, and 4) curriculum evaluation. The research findings were as follows:

1. The developed training curriculum for the practice of GONG WONG YAI in the PHRA ATHIT CHINGDUANG song for students of the Thai Music Department, College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University included problem identification, curriculum rationale, objectives, goals, content, activities and duration, training media, participants, training approaches, and assessment tools. The assessment of the curriculum draft's appropriateness and the validity of assessment tools showed that all components of the curriculum are appropriate, consistent, and the assessment tools used for evaluation are appropriately aligned.

2. The results of implementing the training curriculum for the practice of GONG WONG YAI in the PHRA ATHIT CHINGDUANG song for students of the Thai Music Department, College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University showed that the participants' practical skills in playing GONG WONG YAI in the PHRA ATHIT CHINGDUANG song improved after the training. The post-training skill assessment scores were significantly higher than the pre-training scores at a statistical significance level of 0.05. Additionally, the overall feedback on the training curriculum was rated at the highest level of satisfaction (= 4.41, S.D. = 0.52). Furthermore, there was a high level of satisfaction with the training overall ( = 4.65, S.D. = 0.47).
