DEVELOPMENT OF A SAXOPHONE QUARTET SKILL-TRAINING MODULE USING ISAN FOLK SONGS FOR THIRD-YEAR VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE STUDENTS ROI ET COLLEGE OF DRAMATIC ARTS

Abstract

         This study, titled Development of a Saxophone Quartet Skill-Training Module Using Isan Folk Songs for Third-Year Vocational Certificate Students at Roi Et College of Dramatic Arts, aimed to: 1) develop a saxophone quartet skill-training module based on Isan folk songs that meets the 80/80 efficiency criterion 2) compare students’ saxophone performance skills before and after instruction using the developed training module 3) examine students’ satisfaction with the saxophone quartet skill-training module incorporating Isan folk songs. The sample was selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included 1) the saxophone quartet skill-training module using Isan folk songs 2) an evaluation form for the training module 3) pre-test and post-test assessment forms measuring students’ saxophone performance skills 4) a student satisfaction questionnaire pertaining to the training module.

         The findings indicated that the developed saxophone quartet skill-training module achieved an efficiency score of 81.25/87.50, meeting the established criteria. Students’ post-instruction saxophone performance skills were higher than their pre-instruction scores. In addition, overall student satisfaction with the training module was at the highest level, with a mean score of 4.78 and a standard deviation of 0.30.
