Abstract

“Ways of Thai Agriculture” is a contemporary sculpture that reflects Thai tradition. Inspired by the lifestyle of agriculture in Suphanburi province of which identity is knowingly referred as “Breadbasket”. This project started with inspiring concept and creative process. The shape of the container is called-“Krabung Pakban” which is as used as a rice container was to altered to adjust the dense appearance to be more airy by the use of lines. The method consists of structural welding, components with steel bars and steel plates but the aesthetics of the shape of abundance, exuberance is preserved. The agricultural knowledge of rural people is connected to nature. The use of the materials and creative methods combined with artistic elements results in good incorporation between space and form and the dimension of internal overlapping in between. It links the past to the present. This will be a Thai way to develop contemporary sculptures for the next generation.
