Main Article Content
Abstract
This objective of this research was to study demographic and working environment factors affecting the satisfaction of 370 samples who were employees working in the airside area at Don Mueang International Airport. Data were analyzed using questionnaires with the Cronbach’s Alpha value at .938. The statistics used for the descriptive analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The statistics used to test hypotheses included t-test, F-test, and regression. Among all the respondents, 70% of them were male, and 59.5% of them were between 25-34 years old. Considering the education level, 47.3% of all the respondents received a bachelor’s degree. In addition, 41% of the respondents received an income around THB 20,000 per month. 42.2% of them had been working for less than 3 years. The result showed that the personnel mostly emphasized the factors related to work performance and relationship with their co-workers, followed by the factors related to the organization’s policy and administration, career advancement, and workplace, respectively. Most of them acknowledged their duties and responsibilities well. In addition, they claimed that they highly respected their co-workers’ opinions. Considering their satisfaction towards the quality as well as a sufficiency of working tools and instruments, it was found that most respondents had a high satisfaction since the working tools were in good quality and could enhance their working performance. The results from the hypothesis testing revealed that the demographic data in terms of genders and ages affected work satisfaction differently. In addition, factors related to career advancement clearly affected work satisfaction with a significance level at 0.05.
