The Development of Special Economic Zones in Thailand: A Mini-Research looking from Development Administration perspectives

Abstract
The purposes of this research were as follows: (1) to study the nature of administration and operation in special economic zone 2015 – 2016; (2) to present the work together with identifying the problems and obstacles that occur including relationships; and (3) to analyze and recommend opinions about the application of knowledge in academic administration development. The study was a qualitative research. Data were collected via documents and observation in the area once the information has been obtained therefore analyzed and compiled to report the results of the study according to the objectives set. The results of the research showed that the decision to take action on special economic zones of Thailand comes from the head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), General Prayut Chan-Ocha, due to political reasons for making friends with neighbors as a guarantee for national interests. By establishing a special economic development zone in 10 provinces with a total investment value of 22,650 million Baht, but unsuccessful, as Thailand has not received the special tariff privileges (GSP) from the US-EU causing operators to turn to establish factories in the settlement or Special Economic Zone of neighboring countries instead and government policy support for investment will enhance the potential for all sectors both government agencies, private and public sectors caused by the operation with planning Management and monitoring and evaluation for efficiency and effectiveness.
