Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the satisfaction of Buddhist people in the Southern Border Provinces towards Pilgrimage at the Four Holy Places of Buddhism, and 2) to propose the new body of knowledge in providing services that create satisfaction of Buddhist people in the Southern Border Provinces towards pilgrimage at the Four Holy Places of Buddhism. The researchers applied a mixed research method in this study. The researchers used the research questionnaire to collect quantitative data from the samples of 90 respondents and collected qualitative data by interviewing 5 scholars. The statistics used in this research consisted of Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze qualitative data. The results of the research were found that:  1) The satisfaction of Buddhist people in the Southern Border Provinces towards Pilgrimage at the Four Holy Places of Buddhism, in total, was at the highest level in all aspects. In particular, the satisfaction on the Four Holy Places of Buddhism had the highest mean value, followed by satisfaction on a group of lecturers, satisfaction on services of tour company staff, satisfaction on the project of pilgrimage, and satisfaction on services of staff of Division of Internal Security Operations Command, Region 4 respectively; and 2) The new body of knowledge in providing services that create satisfaction to Buddhist people in the Southern Border Provinces towards Pilgrimage at the Four Holy Places of Buddhism consisted of providing good services, providing facilitation, having mental happiness, and gaining new knowledge and experiences.
