Public participation in community planning: A case study of Prawet District, Bangkok

Abstract
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of public participation in the community plan of Prawet District; and 2) to study and compare the level of participation of the people in the formulation of the community plan of Prawet District. Bangkok Classified by personal factors the research model used a quantitative. The instruments used were questionnaires. The confidence factor was 0.98. The sample used in this study was 398 people living in the Prawet area by random sampling. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and analysis of variance. The results of the research were found that: The participation of the people in the community plan of Prawet District. Bangkok the overall picture was at the moderate level ( = 3.43) When considered on a single side, it was found that the participation in decision making was at the highest level of the lowest participation in benefits, participation in practice, and umbrella participation in the evaluation. The results of the comparison of the people's participation in the community plan of Prawet District. Bangkok was classified by gender, age, occupation and income, and found no differences and classified by educational level found that the difference was statistically significant at 0.05 level.
