Approach to a Development of Speed Management to Reduce Accident in Thailand

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study the problems of speed management; (2) to study the speed management system used; and (3) to survey opinions from those responsible for speed management. Using mixed research, quantitative research analyzed by statistics for frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation with an expert examining the questions and qualitative research, researching documents summarize the data obtained from the review of the theory and conduct in the field. Make a group conversation, in-depth interview the results of the quantitative research found that person side (driver of the vehicle) optimal speed affects the safe stopping distance. Most of the level, law enforcement the law on speed is seriously enforced. Will make motorists afraid of wrongdoing at the highest level, road engineering, speed signs, and deceleration lines are used to help reduce accidents for road users and pavement users. At the highest level, the qualitative research found that Thailand still has problems in traffic management in terms of speed. Both in terms of the driver of the vehicle law enforcement road engineering and budget motorists in Thailand lack discipline. Therefore, the law enforcement so strict is an important issue. To lead to good traffic management in the future.
