Results of the Ordinary National Educational Test (O-NET) in the Academic Year 2019 of Grade 6 Students in Schools under Office of the Private Education Commission in Bangkok Metropolis

Abstract
The objectives of this research article were to 1) study the results of grade 6 students’ O-NET test in the academic year 2019 of different-sized schools under Office of the Private Education Commission in Bangkok Metropolis and 2) compare the results of grade 6 students’ O-NET test in the academic year 2019 on overall and each subject of schools under Office of the Private Education Commission in Bangkok Metropolis. 324 schools were the research population and 185 schools were sampled by means of stratified random sampling technique. Secondary data collection was used for collecting data from data base of Office of the Private Education Commission. Descriptive statistic together with inferential statistics of ONE-WAY ANOVA and Scheffe’s method were used as data analysis. The results of the data analysis are as the following: The overall O-NET results of the target schools were 49.89 as the mean with 9.69 as the standard deviation. The medium-sized and small-sized schools had lower mean scores on every subject than those of the large-sized and extra large-sized ones. Furthermore, small-sized schools had the lowest mean whereas the extra large-sized ones had the highest one. It was also found that there were statistically significant mean score difference of the O-NET results on overall and each subject among different-sized schools at .05. Moreover, the medium-sized and small-sized schools had statistically significant lower mean scores than those of the large-sized and extra large-sized ones at .05.
