Youth’s Political Awareness Affecting the General Election of Thailand

Abstract

This research has the following objectives: 1. To study the state of youth’ political alertness affecting of Thai general election. 2. To study the factors influencing the youth’ political alertness affecting of Thai general election and 3. To present the youth’ political alertness affecting of Thai general election that affects by the principle of Iddhipada 4 to create political alertness of youth in democracy. Research methodology is a mixed method. The qualitative research collected data from 24 key informants by in-depth interview. The data were analyzed by descriptive interpretation. In the quantitative research, data were collected with a questionnaire from 400 samples. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a confidence value of 0.95. The statistics used in the data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that 1. Political culture has a greater effect on the political alertness of youths than the political facilitating institutions. 2. Actors influencing the youth’ political alertness affecting of Thai general election overall was at a high level. The regression equation had 37.7 percent predictive power. 3. Promotion of youth’ political alertness affecting of Thai general election according to the principle of Iddhipada 4 were Chanda Viriya Chitta Vimansa is good for strengthening the youth against the political alertness of the youth.
