Participation in Community’s Adaptation to the New Normal Lifestyle in Situation of the COVID-19 Epidemic in Surat Thani Province, Ranong Province, and Chumphon Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) to monitor the lifestyle behavior, adaptation, and learning of the people in the situation of the spread of the COVID-19 for the adaptation of the new normal community in Surat Thani, Ranong and Chumphon provinces; 2) to support the survey of people’s opinions on the prevention and solution of the spread of the COVID-19; 3) to develop the learning process for the adaptation of the new normal community; and 4) to provide a recommendation for the laying of together preventive measures between the Suratthani Rajabhat University (SRU) and related agencies in Surat Thani, Ranong, and Chumphon provinces. The target groups of the study are divided into 5 groups: 1) SRU students or their families affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, and domiciled or live in the three provinces; 2) The general population who can answer online questionnaires; 3) households distributed in the three provinces; 4) administrators and community leaders; and 5) the group responsible for public relations involved. In conclusion, the results showed that people and related agencies in the three provinces learned how to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak, such as frequent handwashing, wearing a face mask all the time, leaving the house social distancing of at least 1 meter, creating a network of volunteers, elevating measures to deal with emerging epidemics, etc.
