Guidelines for the Development of a Graduate Teacher Production Model Chiang Rai Rajabhat University in the Twenty-first Century

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to: 1) analyze the characteristics and desired competencies of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University teacher graduates in the 21st century; 2) analyze the conditions for producing teacher graduates at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University; and 3) present guidelines for developing a teaching model to produce teacher graduates at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University in the 21st century. It is a mixed research method, using in-depth interviews with 6 people, questioning a sample group of 360 school administrators and teachers, and group discussions with 7 people. The results found that 1) the desired characteristics and competencies of teacher graduates must be those who have a good attitude towards the teaching profession. The determination to become a teacher contains appropriate competencies for being a teacher in the 21st century and opinions about desirable characteristics and competencies. Overall, it is at a high level. When considering each aspect, it is found that the aspect of self-reform is consistent and has the highest average, and the aspect of viewing the world holistically has the lowest average. 2) The situation for producing graduates is no different from other teacher production institutions that produce according to the policy of the authorized unit. It is necessary to be outstanding in both the production process and quality development, and 3) Guidelines for developing a model for producing graduate teachers contain a 5-step process: Step 1: Objectives of teacher production Step 2. Competencies and required characteristics Step 3: Selection process Step 4: The development process Step 5: Inspection, monitoring, and evaluation.
