The Soft Skill of School Administrators Affecting the Administration of Secondary Schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in Bangkok

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) investigate the school administrators’ soft skills and the administration of secondary schools under the office of the Basic Education Commission in Bangkok, (2) examine the relationship between the school administrators’ soft skills and the administration of secondary schools, as well as (3) explore the soft skills affecting the school administration. The population consisted of 119 secondary schools and 9,945 teachers under the office of the Basic Education Commission in Bangkok. The samples of 37 schools and 385 teachers were selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression were used for data analysis. The findings are as follows: 1. School administrators’ soft skills and school administration were rated at the highest level overall and in all aspects. 2. There was a statistically significant relationship between school administrators’ soft skills and school administration at the .05 level. 3. Five dimensions of school administrators’ soft skills significantly impacted school management administration at the.05 level: communication and presentation skills, teamwork skills, analytical thinking for creative problem-solving, personal development and innovation, and learning and self-development creativity.
