Development of Analytical Reading Skills Using PANORAMA Method with Electronic Books for Matthayomsuksa 6 Students

Abstract

        This study was the pre-experimental research for the development of analytical  reading skills using PANORAMA teaching method with electronic books.  The objectives  were:  1) To compare the of students’ analytical reading ability before and after with 70 percent criteria; 2) To compare the students’  analytical reading ability before and after applying PANORAMA Method with electronic books; and 3) To study students’ satisfaction after learning. The population used in the research was Matthayomsuksa 6 students, academic year 2020, Phuttamongkonwittaya School, Uthai Thani Province. The sample was 14 Matthayomsuksa 6/1 students obtained from cluster random sampling. The research tools were lesson plans,  analytical reading ability test, the electronic book, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed  by mean (), percentage, standard deviation (S.D.), and t-test.

            The results of this research were found that: 1) The students’ analytical reading ability after studying were higher than 70 percent criteria with statistical significance at the .05 level; 2) The students’ analytical reading ability after applying PANORAMA Method with electronic books were higher than before with statistical significance at the .05 level; and 3) The students’ satisfaction on PANORAMA Method with electronic books was at a high level.
