Structural Violence in Short Stories in the Final List for the B.E. 2560 S.E.A. Write Award

Abstract

This article presented the analysis of the structural violence in the final list of short stories for the B.E.2560 S.E.A. Write Award. The scope of the study covered the 8 final list of books of the B.E. 2560 S.E.A. Write Award, 75 stories in total. The theorical framework followed that of Johan Galtung’s concept of structural violence. The results of the study indicated that there were 5 types of structural violence found in the final list of short stories of the B.E. 2560 S.E.A. Write Award, namely economic violence, political violence, social status and role violence, family institutional violence, and educational violence, respectively.
